Honing and polishing is a mechanical process that will physically reveal a new layer of stone, this process requires advanced techniques, utilising different types of diamond pucks, pads and powders.
Honing
This process will remove a thin layer of the stone, removing light scratches, etch marks and other imperfections. This process will smooth the surface and leave a matte or satin finish.
Polishing
This process is carried out following honing, using progressively finer diamond grits this process will result in a polished, reflective surface.
Please note: Diamond polishing is most effective on harder stones such as marble and granite, however some limestones and travertines can also benefit from this process.
